I see the same behaviour here: Mar 10 19:36:49 mirexpress automount[27398]: failed to mount /mnt/auto/removable/usb-key/roland
(The mountpoint is .../usb-key). Other strange things (maybe unrelated): - the mount seems to expire, but apparently something remounts it, and the key is remounted every 30 seconds; - if I manually unmount the key, then it stays unmounted, but then I get the following two messages in the log: Mar 10 19:44:35 mirexpress automount[28301]: mount(ext2): warning: /mnt/auto/removable/usb-key is already mounted Mar 10 19:44:35 mirexpress automount[28302]: failed to mount /mnt/auto/removable/usb-key/.created-by-hal The last message seems to indicate somethig's fishy with hald, but the former sounds fishy by itself.
