1. Yes, this symlink is still broken in version 2:1.02.145-4.1. 2. The issue August Karlstrom was seeing, is a different one. libdevmapper.so.1.02.1 is a different file. That's unrelated to the symlink Andreas reported and if this is still a problem, it should be reported separately. 3. The file referenced does exist in package dmeventd. However libdevmapper-dev does not Depends: dmeventd. I see two potential solutions to this problem: A. Add dmeventd to libdevmapper-dev's Depends. B. Remove usr/lib/*/libdevmapper-event-lvm2.so from debian/libdevmapper-dev.install. It's unclear to me which solution is to be preferred here. In any case, I don't see that this violates the Debian policy in any way. It certainly isn't nice, but why should it be rc? Downgrading. Helmut
