Package: firefox-esr
Version: 52.9.0esr-1
Severity: minor
Dear Maintainer,
when fonts-noto-color-emoji is installed, (some?) emojis are shown
oversized in various parts of firefox, including web pages and UI.
This means they are much bigger than the font size of their
surrounding regular text, and they overlap other lines creating a very
weird and unlegible effect.
As example see the two attached screenshots showing the issue in:
1. the firefox UI: see how icons on first/last page buttons are
rendered in the 'Print' dialog. I guees those are some sort of
backward/forward icons;
2. web content: I managed to find a youtube video [0] affected by this
behaviour (wasn't hard honestly, just searched for 'emoji title'
:)). Here you can see the issue at its worst. I don't remember
right now if i had problems on other websites, but I usually don't
browse webpages with lots of emojis in general...
Now I don't know whether the problem is in firefox or in
fonts-noto-color-emoji (or some sort of GTK fonts precedence maybe?).
I can only say i just use plain default themes and fonts, so idk.
Thanks, let me know if you need more details.
Best regards.
