On a vserver, /etc/cron.daily/find issues "su: permission denied" if nice priority is different from 0: ~# LOCALUSER="nobody" nice -n10 updatedb su: Permission denied ~# ~# LOCALUSER="nobody" nice -n0 updatedb ~# As the default value in /etc/updatedb.conf is 10, the db cannot be updated. I have no idea of the setup of the vserver host, but can try to ask my provider.
