Package: ifupdown Version: 0.8.34 Severity: wishlist The documentation note for inet netmask currently reads: Netmask (dotted quad or CIDR)
I suggest changing that to be more like the inet6 netmask note, so: Netmask (dotted quad or number of bits, e.g., 24) Also it would be good to add to both inet and inet6 netmask a note that use of these keywords replaces the "/bits" notation in the address keyword. So the new inet netmask note would be something like: Netmask (dotted quad or number of bits, e.g., 24) used in lieu of "/netmask" in address Finally, it may be useful to note that the netmask keyword is a legacy/deprecated keyword that can be fully replaced with the current address syntax.
