retitle 339317 pidentd: Doesn't work without previous debugging severity 339317 important thanks
Hi, this is not the first time within the last several months it cost me some debugging time to find the cause here. IMO, it is not sufficient to just close this bug (#305926) and document it. The documentation in README.Debian is even outdated. (The kernel option is called CONFIG_INET_TCP_DIAG, or CONFIG_INET_DIAG, in 2.6.15.) The module is called tcp_diag, as Oliver mentioned. But it's not loaded by default, at least not with the current Debian default setting and stock kernel. Please don't close this bug until it is fixed in pidentd or somewhere else (kernel?). It costs people's time. Besides, gidentd works better (at least in this regard). Thanks for considering. bye, Roland -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
