Test methodology: - Patch apt-setup to also include $release-proposed-updates alongside $release-updates when the updates channel is selected (the default). - Include patched apt-setup as a local package on a netinst ISO. - Check only the old ABI (from stretch) is installed. - Rebuild the ISO with a patched pkgsel (Ben's version). - Check the new ABI (from stretch-proposed-updates) is installed. Even if using a different channel (proposed-updates instead of security) this test seems to confirm that the fix is working as intended. On a side note, this ISO was using a d-i rebuilt against the newer kernel ABI, with its maching udebs shipped on the ISO as well; no obvious issues spotted there, but we will need to source-upload d-i to account for this new ABI bump. We can coordinate d-i and d-i-n-i uploads elsewhere though. Cheers, -- Cyril Brulebois (k...@debian.org) <https://debamax.com/> D-I release manager -- Release team member -- Freelance Consultant
