Package: fetchmail Version: 6.3.2-2 Severity: wishlist Differently from version 6.3.1, this version does not log POP connections where no mail is found.
The current behaviour is inconvenient to me, because I get mail on a substantial amount of POP connections (varying from 1/2 to 1/30 during the day), and that information is valuable to me, because I use it to spot problems with the POP server or my configuration. It is true that this bloats the logs, but since those are all equal lines, compression yields very satisfactory results. It would be useful to have those logs back, possibly by means of a configuration option. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'testing-proposed-updates') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.4.30-pre2-pr-hrt-1kHz-1 Locale: LANG=C, [EMAIL PROTECTED] (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) (ignored: LC_ALL set to C) Versions of packages fetchmail depends on: ii adduser 3.80 Add and remove users and groups ii debianutils 2.15.3 Miscellaneous utilities specific t ii gettext 0.14.5-2 GNU Internationalization utilities ii libc6 2.3.5-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libssl0.9.8 0.9.8a-7 SSL shared libraries Versions of packages fetchmail recommends: ii ca-certificates 20050804 Common CA Certificates PEM files -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
