i3-py is a library to communicate with the i3 window manager from Python. == I use this package for this dumb i3-focus script I couldn't live without, as a Xmonad transfuge: https://gitlab.com/anarcat/scripts/blob/master/i3-focus One could argue that this could be done by talking directly with the i3-msg commandline, but this needs to be really fast (which makes the use of Python questionable in the first place, but I disgress) so it's better to avoid a fork. I am not aware of another library with a similar goal. I'd be happy to see this managed by the DPMT or the i3 package maintainer. Alternatively, I'd love to see an easier, built-in way of accomplishing the same thing.
