(1) F6 does not do anything at all. It does not switch to another soundcard, or give me a list of them, even when I have a USB soundcard attached and there are clearly other working sound cards. (2) My mouse stops working. It freezes where it is, and I have to reboot to correct the problem.
--another problem, possibly unrelated. I just added /etc/asound.conf to include this defaults.pcm.card 1 defaults.pct.device 0 so that my arecord would default to an external microphone: $ arecord -l **** List of CAPTURE Hardware Devices **** card 0: PCH [HDA Intel PCH], device 0: ALC236 Analog [ALC236 Analog] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 card 1: Headset [Logitech USB Headset], device 0: USB Audio [USB Audio] Subdevices: 1/1 Subdevice #0: subdevice #0 But alsamixer still opens to my internal sound system. When I open Audacity, it defaults to the USB mic, so I think the asound.conf entry is correct. Susan :)
