Not on pure sid, but siduction, I have the exact same issue, I end up with
"FATAL_ERROR: No valid sound driver! FATAL_ERROR: Server exited!" My guess is that this is not an issue with mocp but with alsa. See my findings in the siduction forums https://forum.siduction.org/index.php?topic=7484.0
