But adding /etc/init.d/dictd to the serpento package sounds a bit weird
to me. That would be just as weird as an alternate webserver (for
example lighttpd) providing /etc/init.d/apache. (Or take almost any
other daemon that provides an alternative.)

This also came to my mind when I asked the other people who
were involved and I'm continuousely unsure what is best.

On the other hand, a dictionary package (like dict-wn) being aware of
all kinds of different dictionary-servers sounds silly too.

What do you think about a (hackish) fix

    invoke-rc.d dictd restart || invoke-rc.d serpento restart

So I'm not quite sure how to look upon this problem.

Alternatively I wonder if this is not an sysv-rc bug that should
verify the existance of the daemon to start.

Kind regards

          Andreas.
