If yes you might run roger like the following: (That should print the backtrace when the segmentation fault happens.) gdb -q -ex run -ex bt -ex detach -ex quit --args roger Another way would be to install a core dump collector like systemd-coredump. Then a backtrace can be extracted from that stored core dump. coredumpctl list coredumpctl gdb <PID> Even better if debug symbols are installed like described in [1].
