Hi,

This patch has been merged upstream in bash 5.0, and enabling it is
just a simple change to the config file which I provided in #901438.
That will allow to optionally enable it at runtime (it's disabled by
default) via shopt.

I have tested it by rebuilding the 5.0-beta2 from experimental with
that change and it does work just fine, so it would be great if it
could be enabled for the next 5.0~ upload.

Thanks!
