Dear Maintainer,
sadly the bumpversion project [1] seems to have stalled since 2015.
Its maintainer indicated that he should better mark it as unmaintained
[2], but failed to do so up to now.
Two attempts of asking the maintainer for transitioning the project to
an active maintainer failed ([3] and [4]).
The maintained fork published seven releases (as of 2018), including
support for signed git tags (certainly a good thing). The fork is a
drop-in replacement and keeps a compatibility link for the original
command ("bumpversion").
Maybe you want to consider packaging this fork in the future?
