Package: qemu-user-static
Dear Maintainer,
I'm trying to run Stretch 386 binaries on a PogoPlug E02, which is currently
running an Arch Linux system. I populated a directory using debootstrap.
Can you please try out the 3.1 version from unstable? Since I don't
have hardware to test it on, I depend on you to verity it.
The package can be installed directly on older version since it is a
statically compiled binary and does not have any dependencies.
You can try out just one binary from the 3.1+dfsg-1 package,
/usr/bin/qemu-i386-static.
Besides, i386 emulation is very rarely tested and we don't expect
it to work well. Usually it is the other way 'round: other architecture
is emulated on i386 (actually on x86_64). Also stuff is very rarely
tried/tested on ARM host, or actually or anything but X86 host. Maybe
things will change in the future, at least some architectures are now
more common than before (and some become less common ;). We may just
disable building some binaries of qemu-user on some architectures to
avoid bugreports like this, but I don't think it is a good choice.
I'm also lowering the severity of this bugreport - maybe this very
combination is completely broken, other combinations might still
work.

This smells like endianness mismatch problem..
Thanks!
