Package: mksh Version: 56c-3~bpo9+1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation? I installed mksh and attempted to set the login shell to /bin/ksh * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? `chsh -s /bin/ksh` * What was the outcome of this action? The command failed because /bin/ksh was not present in /etc/shells * What outcome did you expect instead? As mksh is part of Debian's alternatives system for the Korn Shell I would expect /bin/ksh to be available as a login shell. -- System Information: Debian Release: 9.6 APT prefers stable-updates APT policy: (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'stable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 4.9.0-8-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=en_GB:en (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) Versions of packages mksh depends on: ii libc6 2.24-11+deb9u3 Versions of packages mksh recommends: ii ed 1.10-2.1 mksh suggests no packages. -- no debconf information
