Well I just remove the hardcoded g++-4.0 and call g++ as you suggested which
should take care of business once I also adjust Build-Depends as you
suggested: g++ (>= 4:4.0.2-2)
Is 4:4.0.2-2 the new 'magic' number? I need to do the same for R ... And I
can mix and match with object code from g++ 3.4, right?
