pypy hasn't been ported to x32, yet. In general it hasn't needed
explicit porting to new platforms, when not using a JIT. But on x32,
we've seen this issue, and it hasn't been deeply investigated. It's
presumably some code assuming 64-bit system, and being wrong.

This was visible before it started build-depending on itself on amd64-any
(and thus x32)

Upstream has discussed x32 a few times in the past years, and if you
look at the changelog (and upstream hg) you'll see a few commits from me
and others trying to pick away at it. But I haven't touched it in a few
years...

Upstream's current stance is that x32 isn't supported (although it
probably wouldn't be hard to support).
