Package: mail-client/mailx
Version: 20060102-r2
1.
The man page contains in the paragraph "Character sets and MIME" the
phrase "it does not perform any any conversions"
2.
The change of Debian to mailx ("Starting from April 2017, however, as a
Debian extension this version of mail adds a few MIME headers to") broke
the work flow here at my Gentoo Linux build bot server, b/c uuencoded
attachment won't displayed right at recent mail readers. The work around
for me was to use "-a "" to the mailx command line ([1]).
It works but as a side effect now the lines
MIME-Version: 1.0
Content-Type: text/plain; charset="UTF-8"
Content-Transfer-Encoding: 8bit
are moved into the mail body. I do wonder if - per option - the MIME
header line could be suppressed at all?
TIA
