Package: initscripts Version: 2.93-8 Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer,
in initscripts, we have huge number of calls to `uname -s', that are used to perform actions depending on current kernel (Linux, Hurd, kFreeBSD). Given that bin:initscripts is already Architecture: any, it does not make sense. We could provide file with KERNEL=<constant value> as part of package. Alternatively, we could consider how we could make efforts to make bin:initscripts Architecture: all; currently it is not possible, since version of hurd have one file more. Opinions, which of these targets are more important? -- System Information: Debian Release: buster/sid APT prefers buildd-unstable APT policy: (500, 'buildd-unstable'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (1, 'buildd-experimental'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 4.19.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=eo.utf8, LC_CTYPE=eo.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=eo.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /usr/bin/dash Init: runit (via /run/runit.stopit) Versions of packages initscripts depends on: ii coreutils 8.30-1 ii debianutils 4.8.6.1 ii lsb-base 10.2018112800 ii mount 2.33.1-0.1 ii sysv-rc 2.93-8 ii sysvinit-utils 2.93-8 Versions of packages initscripts recommends: ii e2fsprogs 1.44.5-1 ii psmisc 23.2-1 initscripts suggests no packages. -- Configuration Files: /etc/default/rcS changed: VERBOSE=yes /etc/default/tmpfs changed: TMPFS_SIZE=512m -- no debconf information
