Thanks for the link. I've tried the 4.2 packages as upgrades from what I've been using. They addressed the menu focus issue once, which seemed promising. I've since found out this is specific to the xfwm4 menu from right-clicking on a title bar, and other menus do not work correctly. Unfortunately the update also does not address the desktop change focus issue, which is the one that bites me on a regular basis. If only I could secure the focus behavior of sawfish with the responsiveness and general non-glitchiness of xfwm4! Have you been able to reproduce the version in which you move the mouse during a full-screen refresh, only to find the focus goes to the window the cursor was over when the desktop switched? I wonder if X.org with xdamage would mitigate or solve this issue...
