Isn't it possible that you build a package for sparc64 and sparc32, like libc6 maintainers do ? I know it's a pain, though. But I've been having the same problem each time I run a new sparc64 box, and it's -really- annoying. If not, I think we'll have to settle with an additional source which provides a sparc64 package for those of us that don't have gcc on every box ;-)
