I had the hope that this has gone away since but I just rebuilt subversion using swig 1.3.29 and the bug is still there.
For details of the bug, it is described at http://bugs.debian.org/356894 This did work with swig 1.3.25 and is at least an incompatibility introduced since. As I am learning for my exams I did not really investigate what's going on here but I have the hopes that you have more insight than me. Friendly, Torsten
