Some apps require the theme to be selected in Settings Panel -> Look -> Application Theme -> Icons. Pavucontrol for example. Same time I choose Adwaita as icon theme I see icon for pavucontrol in menu. And all works fine until I remove ~/.cache/efreet (exactly icons_Adwaita_transient.eet). Really all cache will be rebuilt at startup time, except icons_Adwaita_transient.eet so I will see no pavucontrol icon and will need to choose Adwaita to rebuild the cache.
