unfortunately, this is not the case. The changes from my merge request (same as https://github.com/MariaDB/mariadb-connector-c/pull/101) are not included in the mariadb-10.3 1:10.3.14-1 source, and testing shows that a hostname set through my.cnf is ignored. Florian
