Package: openoffice.org-writer Version: 2.0.2-2 Severity: normal
1) Create blank text document 2) Use Format|Page and change Format to "Env. #10" 3) Change to Landscape (else you have a tall narrow envelope instead of a short wide envelope that is typically used) 4) Enter some text 5) Attempt to print Result: Printer spits out a blank page after making printing noises for one line (however ink is fine since the workaround described below works). On checking the "Printer Settings", OO.o has set the page type to "Commercial 10". This appears to occur when on printing as checking the printer settings prior to printing for the first time reveals a paper size of "Letter". Workaround: Use a 'user' Format with width and height which don't match any predefined paper types, and set margins to compensate. This results in the paper size in printer settings staying at Letter, and prints correctly. This error occurs with stable's cups as well as cups 1.1.23-15 on an HP DeskJet 540 (old PCL inkjet printer). I use pure cups and gimpprint drivers (no foomatic). This is probably not debian-specific as I have noted similar behaviour in OO.o 1.1 on Windows (though it may have been those fixes which have broken OO.o 2 on Debian; I'm not sure as I haven't used windows much for a long time). -- System Information: Debian Release: 3.1 APT prefers testing APT policy: (10, 'testing'), (7, 'unstable'), (3, 'experimental') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 2.6.15-1-k7 Locale: LANG=en_CA, LC_CTYPE=en_CA (charmap=ISO-8859-1) Versions of packages openoffice.org-writer depends on: ii libc6 2.3.5-13 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libgcc1 1:4.0.2-9 GCC support library ii libicu34 3.4-4 International Components for Unico ii libstdc++6 4.0.2-9 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii libstlport4.6c2 4.6.2-3 STLport C++ class library ii libwpd8c2a 0.8.4-2 Library for handling WordPerfect d ii openoffice.org-core 2.0.2-2 OpenOffice.org office suite archit ii python-uno 2.0.2-2 Python interface for OpenOffice.or ii zlib1g 1:1.2.2-4.sarge.2 compression library - runtime -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
