There is a known regression that will be fixed soon, affecting programs that use small socket buffers. I think it was once recommended to set the SO_SNDBUF parameter in smb.conf, which can trigger this bug. This parameter is now deprecated, and if it is present in your configuration file it should be safe to remove it. Please let us know if that change fixes the issue.
