hi, new cacti maintainer here, i think the reason cacti was bringing in all that extra stuff is because one of cacti's dependencies (libphp-adodb) depends on php4, which then brings in the rest of this stuff. so, unfortunately, this is what the state of things are, and i guess you'll have to put up with a bit of extra cruft on your system.
if you can think of another solution to the problem, i'd be happy to
hear it, otherwise i'll close this bug in a couple days' time.
