Package: powertop Version: 2.8-1 Severity: important Dear Jose and maintainers of powertop package in Debian,
The package appears to be unmaintained by listed maintainer. The last upload by the listed maintainer was 2015-11-09 (3 years ago). After that upstream had released version 2.9 and 2.10. I opened a bug 923025 requesting to update the package in February but it was not acknowledged. There were also others attempt to contact the maintainer privately but didn't get reply. After checking the qualification criteria, I am filing this Intent To Salvage (ITS) bug, following the process outlined in: https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/developers-reference/ch05.en.html#package-salvaging According to the ITS process, I will wait for others' reply and comments and prepare a new upload after 2019-07-30 if no one objects the ITS. The new package will be uploaded onto DELAYED/7 and collba-maintained on Salsa. Meanwhile, the original maintainer can always send a (signed) email response at any time to halt this process. Thank you very much for all of your contributions.
