* What led up to the situation? After an upgrade from Strech, I found out that I was unable to choose my formats (measurements, paper type, date format) when using the locale en_US.UTF-8. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? I upgraded from Strech following the usual method (Debian wiki/manual). The settings were overidden during the upgrade, as far as I understand. * What was the outcome of this action? It changed my formats settings and I am unable to change it from the dedicated settings GUI. I did not try to force it in CLI though. * What outcome did you expect instead? I was expecting to be able to e.g. change the paper type to A4 or change the date format, or even switch from imperial measurements to International System of Units.
