Using glurp should be intuitive since it is based around a  simple GUI.
Simply  run gmpc and click the tools icon to configure and  connect  it
to a running MPD process.

FWIW it took me quite some time to get gmpc to play anything, it was
not intuitive for me. If you start with an empty list and without any
pre-defined playlisted as is usual for a fresh installation the only
way to get it to play something is the tiny "+"-button. ;-)
cu and- is the search dialogue in the main window supposed to work? -reas
