In C/*l mode and the following comment

// Comments are good (aren't they?)

(from the upstream bug report), parenthesis matching is broken due
to the apostrophe character. Neither highlighting of the matching
parentheses, nor C-M-p works.

Note: I initially reported

  https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=755051

with an example of a comment /* (it's) */ (a.k.a. multiline comment
syntax) but this case is now apparently fixed in Debian. The above
issue still occurs with Emacs 26.1 from the Debian package, but
I cannot reproduce it with upstream's development version.
