Package: emacs-common Version: 1:26.1+1-3.3 Severity: normal Tags: upstream Forwarded: https://debbugs.gnu.org/cgi/bugreport.cgi?bug=11982
In C/*l mode and the following comment // Comments are good (aren't they?) (from the upstream bug report), parenthesis matching is broken due to the apostrophe character. Neither highlighting of the matching parentheses, nor C-M-p works. Note: I initially reported https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=755051 with an example of a comment /* (it's) */ (a.k.a. multiline comment syntax) but this case is now apparently fixed in Debian. The above issue still occurs with Emacs 26.1 from the Debian package, but I cannot reproduce it with upstream's development version. -- System Information: Debian Release: bullseye/sid APT prefers unstable-debug APT policy: (500, 'unstable-debug'), (500, 'stable-updates'), (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 5.2.0-2-amd64 (SMP w/12 CPU cores) Kernel taint flags: TAINT_PROPRIETARY_MODULE, TAINT_OOT_MODULE, TAINT_UNSIGNED_MODULE Locale: LANG=POSIX, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8), LANGUAGE=POSIX (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Init: systemd (via /run/systemd/system) LSM: AppArmor: enabled Versions of packages emacs-common depends on: ii emacsen-common 3.0.4 ii install-info 6.6.0.dfsg.1-2 Versions of packages emacs-common recommends: ii emacs-el 1:26.1+1-3.3 Versions of packages emacs-common suggests: ii emacs-common-non-dfsg 1:26.1+1-1 ii ncurses-term 6.1+20190803-1 -- no debconf information -- Vincent Lefèvre <[email protected]> - Web: <https://www.vinc17.net/> 100% accessible validated (X)HTML - Blog: <https://www.vinc17.net/blog/> Work: CR INRIA - computer arithmetic / AriC project (LIP, ENS-Lyon)
