Package: python3-software-properties
Version: 0.96.20.2-2
Hello,
When trying to install "gnome-packagekit" I've seen that its tried to
install me "unattended-upgrades" as a recommended package and this
practice seems to be discouraged.
It looks better to let administrator or user to install
unattended-upgrades to avoid upgrade surprise on the user computer.
See the mail below for details provided by the installer team:
https://lists.debian.org/debian-boot/2018/05/msg00250.html
If needed I could provide you a patch to switch the recommendation to a
suggestion or just remove it.
Backporting the fix to Buster is IMHO important because a end-user
installing "gnome-packagekit" will receive update automatically without
being completely aware. (I assume users trust DM or DD to do a clean job
for them).
Thanks in advance and best regards,
Alex.
