Package: bind9 Version: 1:9.11.5.P4+dfsg-5.1+b1 Severity: important /etc/bind/db.root is not distributed anymore by the bind9 package, since the default configuration nowadays uses the hints file from dns-root-data. But it is not removed on upgrades, which I think is an error in itself, so old configurations will keep using it even if it is not updated anymore. I think that breaking on upgrades the systems which still use the old hints file would actually be desirable.
