I just packaged gparted/1.0.0-0.1~exp and uploaded it to experimental (see
#940278). This new upstream release ported the application to GTK 3.

Once it clears NEW, could you confirm that the bug w/ Wayland support is gone,
and that the xhost-root hack is indeed not needed anymore?
