Typically the --in-reply-to option to git-send-email(1) is not used when sending a revised patch series, but someone might do that if they don't know the convention. It would therefore be useful if notmuch-extract-patch (and M-x notmuch-extract-thread-patches) would enable the user to specify which version of the patch series should be extracted from the thread. I think we'd want to rely on looking for the [PATCH .* vN .*] subject prefix. -- Sean Whitton
