Bug#359987: very old xdm.logs not cleaned up

Package: xdm
Version: 6.8.2.dfsg.1-11
Severity: minor

Controls were not put on logfiles.
$ ls /var/log|sed 's/\..*//'|uniq -c|sort -nr|head
     48 xdm
     20 mail...

I am already at xdm.log.44.gz
The logrotate or whatever needs to limit their proliferation.
