Unless I had completion for "tar xf whatever.tgz", I wouldn't stop using
the compression switches. So the order should be
1) enable completion without z/j
2) people get used to not specifying z/j
and not the other way around.
Fortunately, 1) seems to have happened already. (bash 3.1-2)
