Hello David, I tried to reproduce the issue but I did not receive a crash. There should have been two lines in the syslog - the line with "Code" would at least help to identify in which function the crash happened.
Maybe you could also start thunar or nautilus from a terminal by e.g.
thunar -q; catchsegv thunar
or
nautilus -q; catchsegv nautilus
Then trigger the crash and in the terminal should be more information
that would help with this issue.
