Package: ftp.debian.org Severity: normal python3-scipy is now provided by the scipy source package (currently 1.3.3-3)
python-scipy is now a legacy package providing only python-scipy for python2 (currently version 1.2.2-11). Previously, python-scipy source provided both python2 and python3 packages. From version 1.3, scipy no longer supports python2. An interim packaging removing python2 support was built from the python-scipy source package and uploaded to experimental (1.3.1-1exp3). Since python3 support is now provided by the scipy source package, python-scipy/experimental/1.3.1-1exp3 is now deprecated and is getting in the way of monitoring the scipy packages. Can python-scipy/experimental/1.3.1-1exp3 now be removed? Somewhat related to this, debian/watch for python-scipy (1.2.2-11) now restricts the uscan watch to only version 1.2. This update has not propagated to the qa.debian.org pages e.g. https://qa.debian.org/developer.php?login=dparsons&comaint=yes is still saying 1.4.1 is available for python-scipy. Will this get fixed once python-scipy/experimental/1.3.1-1exp3 is removed or does it need to be fixed elsewhere?
