have you tried to follow these steps? https://wiki.debian.org/Thunderbird#Bug_Reporting_.2F_Issues It's very unlikely that the last version update is provoking the issues you see. The typical problem here are AddOns that are incompatible with recent Thunderbird versions. So try to disable them and try also if the problem is still existing to start with a new profile from scratch. -- Regards Carsten Schoenert
