The problems seems that https requests are not handled properly. I must say that I have no real idea here... The problem is that the package is not maintained anymore upstream. I just have a git repository to keep the sources available. I forwarded the bug to another repository, where the owner did some improvements a year ago in the hope that they can help a bit with the problem. Best Ole
