This problem is still present in the current version of the package. It makes libgtk-3-dev:i386 uninstallable if the 64bit version of that package is already installed, which is quite the severe limitation. Unfortunately it looks like this issue is long-standing, and the package seemingly is not maintained much any more. Kind regards, Ralf
