GIMP 2.10.18 was released about one month ago: https://www.gimp.org/news/2020/02/24/gimp-2-10-18-released/ (I also confirm removing the offending plugin fixes the problem. The plugin is pretty minor: it adds a page curl effect to an image: https://docs.gimp.org/2.10/en/plug-in-pagecurl.html).
