Hello, I am experiencing same kind of issues with X server and lightdm, namely seemingly random crashes where X restarts that get me back to the login greeter.
Searching around a bit I came across a similar report in Ubuntu: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xorg-server/+bug/1853266 as well as two related issues in upstream's gitlab: https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/driver/xf86-video-nouveau/issues/486 https://gitlab.freedesktop.org/xorg/xserver/issues/957 I think this bug should be reassigned to xorg package.
