Hi, as some time has passed, I retried today on sid: Sparkleshare still only works with gnome-shell-extension-appindicator on GNOME 3, i.e., that is the only possibility for users to control Sparkleshare while it is running.
As /usr/share/doc/sparkleshare/README.md mentions Sparkleshare uses the AppIndicator interface by default (while the documented alternative unfortunately does not work on GNOME 3), please make the sparkleshare binary package suggest gnome-shell-extension-appindicator. Cheers, Bruno
