Package: ftp.debian.org
Severity: normal

Hi,

please consider removing mouseemu from the archive.
It's dead upstream and unmaintained/orphaned in Debian since 2011

Thibaut Paumard had a look at the package back then. I'm quoting his
summary from https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=634917

Hi,

I am re-orphaning mouseemu. I believe it is not useful anymore for
recent hardware as the synaptics driver can do a better job at
emulating three buttons. The benefit of keeping it in the archive to
enable middle or right click on decade old laptops does not strike me.

I have been using it for a while to trap the brightness up/down
buttons on my laptop and send them to pommed, but this is fixed
directly in pommed (in git) now.

If someone wants to adopt this package, I suggest putting it in team
maintenance in the pkg-mactel team. It would need to be updated. Look
at the Ubuntu version, which fixes many of the bugs. It doesn't fix
this one, though:

If this package is not adopted in the near future, I'll ask for its
removal later this year.
