Package: php-xdebug Version: 2.7.0~rc2+2.6.1+2.5.5-1 Severity: important Dear Maintainer,
The Xdebug version provided in Buster is affected by an upstream bug which cause it to constantly invoke getpid() and dramatically slow it down. Buster has xdebug 2.7.0. The fix has been released by upstream in 2.7.1: https://github.com/xdebug/xdebug/commit/df17570fd52846baa7134f350547970644a8d1d5 That hinders performances for example when running phpunit. It might be worth updating the package straight to 2.7.2 and carry the other hot fixes released by upstream. But I guess that goes against Debian rules, so a cherry pick would do.
