I have another computer on which I have testing, and firefox works ok on that
computer.
On my laptop I have stable, and firefox has the behaviour which I described
(hangs whenever
I try to download a file). Just to be clear, firefox works well for the rest,
it is just when
I try downloading a .zip or a .tar.gz or similar that it hangs.

I also suspect misconfiguration, but:
- I tried with a fresh account (no .mozilla or .firefox directories in the just
cretaed home direcory)
and it still does not work.
- I downloaded the 1.5 direcly from mozilla size, and it has the same behaviour
(which is weird,
because on my other computer it does not).
- I tried uninstalling (with apt-get remove --purge) and then reinstalling the
package, but nothing changes.

So, probably misconfiguration at system level. This started to happen when I
did an apt-get upgrade
(from stable) a couple of months ago. This is why I filed the bug report.

What also could I check ?

Ciao
